Founded in New York in 1965 by Martin Lefkowitz, Carousel Cakes was once only enjoyed by patrons of the legendary Zabars, Katz' Delicatessen and Friar's Club and other high-end eateries in the city.  Raised in a foster home, Martin's sweet tooth led him to his ultimate destiny. Starting at the age of 16, he learned everything there was to learn about the art of baking. Traveling the New York Catskill Mountains, he learned and watched everything at each hotel bakery until he became a pastry expert.

Today, the Carousel Cakes line has expanded to about 20 varieties. Cakes, which are Kosher certified, are available online and at restaurants and retail locations across the country. Carousel Cakes also creates many custom specialty and party cakes and carries special holiday cakes for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.

Two of the most popular cakes are the Mocha and Bailey’s Expresso Cream Cake.

From September 2007 through August 2008, the Pink Ribbon Cheesecake and Pink Velvet Cake are availabe to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundations.
